2. Events in Poland

  • TOWARDS Molecular Electronics- 5th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology,
    12 - 17 December, 2005,
    Srem (...more details)

This conference is the fifth of a series of international meetings planned as an interdisciplinary forum for discussion on all aspects concerning molecular electronics in a broadest sense: materials (molecular conductors, molecular magnets, electrochromic organic materials, NOE materials) - synthesis, structure and properties, applications of molecular materials in electronics and optoelectronics, supramolecular systems, LB films and self-assembled monomolecular layers, molecular devices, nanoscopy, nanotechniques and nanotechnology. The conference is designed to provide as much discussion among the participants as possible .

  • 43rd IUVSTA Workshop on "Chemical Sensitivity in Scanning Probe Microscopy", November 29 - December 03, Zakopane 2005 (...more details)

The Workshop is organized by Centre for Nanometer-scale Science and Advanced Materials NANOSAM at the Jagiellonian University.

Principal themes/topics:
Rapid developments in nanotechnology and science of nanostructured materials are prompting an urgent need for designing an analytical and nondestructive tool for chemical characterization of solid surfaces with ultimate (nanometer or possibly sub-nanometer) resolution. The overall objectives of the proposed workshop are focused on such developments in scanning probe microscopy and their applications to chemical sensing of various surfaces with extreme spatial resolution.

The workshop should provide a forum for scanning probe specialists in order to review recent theoretical and experimental advances in the relevant areas of research and set guidelines for future activities in the field.

The meeting is sponsored by the Surface Science Division of the International Union of Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications as the Union's 43rd Scientific Workshop.

3. Event in Hungary- 4&2M Workshop and conference "Multi-Material Micro Manufacturing Focusing on Metal Processing and Metrology", 23 - 24 March, 2006, Budapest

organized by Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Manufacturing Engineering under the frame and support of the FP6 Network of Excellence 4M (Multi Material Micro Manufacture: Technology and Applications).

3. DTIP 2006 - SYMPOSIUM on Design, Test, Integration and Packaging of MEMS/MOEMS, 26 - 28 April 2006, Stresa, Lago Maggiore, Italy (...more details)

This Symposium will be a follow-up to the very successful issues held in 1999 and 2000 in Paris, in 2001, 2002 and 2003 in Mandelieu-La Napoule and in 2004 and 2005 in Montreux Switzerland. This series of Symposia is a unique single-meeting event expressly planned to bring together participants interested in manufacturing microstructures and participants interested in design tools to facilitate the conception of these microstructures. Again, a special emphasis will be put on the very crucial needs of MEMS/MOEMS in terms of packaging solutions. The goal of the Symposium is to provide a forum for in-depth investigations and interdisciplinary discussions involving design, modeling, testing, micromachining, microfabrication, integration and packaging of structures, devices, and systems.
Abstract Deadline: 15 November 2005

3. The NATO Programme for Security Through Science (...more details)

The NATO Programme for Security Through Science offers support in 2005 for international collaboration on Priority Research topics in Defence Against Terrorism, or Countering Other Threats to Security. Partner Country Priorities as listed will also be considered for support, and will be particularly encouraged if they also fall within the Priority Research Topics already mentioned.

The collaboration supported is between scientists of certain countries of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council or the Mediterranean Dialogue – i.e. collaboration between scientists in NATO-countries and those in eligible Partner or Mediterranean Dialogue countries. Awards are made following consideration of applications received from individual scientists in these countries. The support is channeled through a range of different mechanisms or activities which promote collaboration, networking and capacity-building, while at the same time catalyzing democratic reform and supporting economic development in Partner countries.
Submission deadline: December 1, 2005.
