Seminar: "Nanotechnologies for Cell Investigation"

This seminar is aimed at presenting the state of the art in this new field of "micro-nanotechnologies for cell biology" i.e. methods for the manipulation of single cells, use of surface patterning to study the interactions of cells with solid substrates, measurement of biologically pertinent parameters by optical, electrical or mechanical techniques at the scale of single cells and mimicking of cellular functions in artificial structures.

I. Nano2Life event:
NanoMed 2006 (the 5th International Workshop on Biomedical Applications of Nanotechnology) and Nano2Life Business Days, Logenhaus, Berlin, February 16-17.
This workshop will feature manufacturers of scientific instruments and international nanobiotechnology networks. Experts from 15 countries will give a detailed overview of the state-of-the-art nanomedicine in 6 sessions: Nanosystems for Drug Delivery; Nanomedical Products on the Markets; Nanoparticles – Therapeutic Potential and Risks; Tissue Engineering and Biocomposites; Nanosurfaces and New Materials for Medical Applications; Nanotherapy for Cancer; Nanobioanalytics and Diagnostic Tools. A Business Day of the European Network of Excellence Nano2Life will be held in conjunction with NanoMed 2006. The aim of this event is to bring together companies with an interest in the nano-bio sector which have or wish to gain an international perspective.
