Under the nanoLINK initiative (see www.nano-link.net)

the EU support projects MINAEAST-NET and MINOS-EURONET are disseminating information through
a n@noLINK flash news (continuing the dissemination done previously by the flash news MINAEAST-NET)

Flash News No.11 (March 24, 2006)

MINAEAST-NET information (Contract No.510420)
Web site: www.minaeast.net

MINOS-EURONET information (Contract No.015704) Web site: www.minos-euro.net

1. The web-based magazine, launched in March 2006, on the www.minos-euro.net/wbm webpage will be used to disseminate the most interesting information about competencies in NMS and ACC (people, organisations, achievements).
The information from Eastern Europe will be focussed on:

  1. National programmes and initiatives
  2. National infrastructures (e.g. networks, science parks)
  3. Successful European cooperation (typically - participation in European projects)
  4. Outstanding scientific results
  5. National Centres of Excellence
  6. Profiles (CV and photo of remarkable scientists, managers, project coordinators etc.

The main entries of this web-based magazine will be tightly correlated with the information in the electronic databases, therefore maximising the possible interaction with future partners.
Contributions should be sent to [email protected].

2. The 29th edition of the International Semiconductor Conference (CAS 2006) will take place in the mountain resort Sinaia, Romania from Wednesday September 27th to Friday September 29th, 2006. The conference is organized by the National Institute for Research and Development in Mictrotechnologies, Bucharest (IMT-Bucharest), under the aegis of the IEEE-Electron Devices Society, Ministry for Education and Research, Romanian Academy, IEEE-Romania Section and Electron Devices Chapter. The Conference is underlying the development in micro-and nanotechnologies, still maintaining the “traditional” connection with semiconductor electronics.

Highlights Topics: - nanoscience and nanoengineering;- microoptics and microphotonics;- micromachined devices and circuits for microwave and millimeter wave applications; - micro and nanotechnologies for transducers, interfaces and microsystems;- micro and nanotechnologies for biomedical and environmental applications;- novel materials and intelligent materials;- power devices and microelectronics (including CAD);

CAS 2006 program will consist in contributed (structured in oral or poster sessions) and invited papers. Authors are requested to submit the electronic file in Microsoft Word format via e-mail ([email protected]) for evaluation by the Program Committee.

The contributed paper should not exceed four A4 pages, structured and printed according to the IEEE format (4 pages, including a 50 words summary, figures and references; text edited in two columns, on A4 size bond paper, with 3.5cm bottom and 2.5cm top, left and right margins). A “Guide for CAS paper authors” is available on the conference site: www.imt.ro/cas.

The contributed and invited papers will be published in the CAS 2006 Proceedings (an IEEE publication), which will be delivered to the participants at the beginning of the conference.
The authors of the accepted papers must sign (for printing the paper in the Proceedings) an IEEE Copyright Form. The papers submitted to CAS must be original and previously unpublished. By the IEEE Copyright form, the authors will transfer the copyright to IEEE.

Important dates: Deadline for submission: May 28th, 2005; Notification of acceptance: July 5th, 2005;

You will find the basic information and the conference fee on http://www.imt.ro/CAS.
