Abstract.
The direct interaction of bovine serum albumin (BSA) with gold nanoparticles was studied. A direct bioconjugation between BSA and gold nanoparticles was used to eliminate the intermediate stabilizing agents or dense passivation with linker molecule of the nanoparticle surface. We have demonstrated that BSA was attached to the gold nanoparticles and immobilization was confirmed by localized surface plasmon spectroscopy (LSPR) spectroscopy in conjunction with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering spectroscopy (SERS).
