Abstract.
This work presents a new class of
s-conjugated silicon-based polymers. Polyhydrosilanes were synthesized by coupling of methyldichlorosilane with methyl- and diphenyldichlorosilane in a homogeneous system using soluble metal complexes of crown ethers. Investigations concerning optoelectronic properties of these materials were performed by spectral analysis. In view of applications as bio-sensors the synthe-sized polyhydrosilanes were submitted to bio-compatibility tests.
