A DC-3 GHz BISTABLE NON-REFLECTIVE SP4T MEMS SWITCH

Abstract. This paper presents a Single-Pole-4-Throw Non-Reflective (SP4T-NR) switching circuit using commercial bistable MEMS switches and operating at DC-3 GHz. The upper frequency of operation is limited by the size of the switches that are individually packaged and assembled on a substrate. The measured RF performances are presented. The bistable actuation scheme is shown to result in very low power consumption, which may be a fundamental advantage for the autonomy of future low switching-rate RF systems.
