MEMS IN ANTENNAS
A.K. SKRIVERVIK, P. CRESPO-VALERO

Abstract. This contribution presents a review of the actual and potential use of RF, microwave and millimetre wave MEMS in antennas. This includes the use of MEMS in the antenna feeding network, (corporate feeding of phased arrays, tuneable matching networks, etc.), and the use of MEMS in the antenna itself, in order to obtain reconfigurable antennas (polarisation, frequency, radiation pattern, etc.). In this contribution, we will concentrate on the antenna point of view, and try to illustrate the implications on the needed performances of MEMS for such applications.
