Abstract. A new siloxane-based polyamides containing ferrocene units were obtained by polycondensation reaction between 1,3-Bis(3-aminopropyl)tetramethyldi-siloxane (
AP0) or α,ω-Bis(3-aminopropyl)oligodimethylsiloxane (AP), and 1,1`-Di(chlorocarbonyl)ferrocene, (CAFc) and characterized by various techniques (IR and 1H-RMN spectroscopy, elemental analysis, viscometry, GPC and solubility tests). The resulted polymers containing iron coordinated in the main chain are able to sensing nitric oxide. The device was tested in NOx atmospheres in 100 ppm NOx. The voltage value obtained was 564 mV. The characteristic voltage-time was presented.
